Stanchion Rentals in Victoria
Victoria runs on conferences, government functions and gala season: multi-day events at the conference centre, public-sector ceremonies around the Inner Harbour, hotel receptions, tech launches, and cruise-season activations at Ogden Point. It is also the one place we serve where the equipment crosses water to reach you, which changes the planning more than the packing list.
We deliver Island-wide from our Vancouver depot. Because the crossing is scheduled rather than zoned, Victoria delivery is quoted with your order instead of appearing as a standing figure.
What Island events order
Conference work is the backbone. Retractable belt stanchions carry an 8ft belt each and cover registration, session overflow and shuttle queues at $19 per stanchion per day, with sign holders at $10 each for room assignments and sponsor boards.
Ceremonies and formal receptions take the polished set: chrome or gold rope stanchions with 5ft velvet ropes at $19 per stanchion per day, and a red carpet runner from $60 for a 4x10ft where the arrival is being photographed. Harbour events add 7ft x 4ft galvanized barricades at $39 each with 25lb sandbags at $15, because weather off the water is the norm rather than the risk.
Order once, and order everything
On the mainland a forgotten item is a second delivery. Here it is a second crossing, which is why Island orders are worth over-specifying: the extra pair of posts, the spare rope, the sandbags you probably need. Add them to the one request rather than discovering the gap on setup day.
The same applies to dates. Tell us the full run — delivery window, event days, teardown — in one go, and the crossing gets planned around all of it at once.
Availability and the minimum
Availability is confirmed when an order is paid in full, and for peak conference weeks that is the step worth doing early. Equipment on an order has to add up to $150 before tax, and 12% BC tax applies to Island orders as it does on the mainland.
Multi-day conferences change the count, not the kit
A three-day conference does not need three times the equipment; it needs the same posts standing for three days and someone to move them between rooms each morning. Rental days are counted, not the number of sessions, so the second and third day cost less per day than the first.
What does grow is signage. Each day has its own room assignments, and a holder that takes a standard 8.5x11 sheet lets you reprint overnight instead of ordering three sets of boards.
Tell us if the venue is on the harbour side. Wind and salt air change what should go outside and what should stay in, and it is easier to plan that before the crossing than to work around it on site.

Do you actually deliver to the Island?
Yes. Island orders are scheduled around ferry crossings rather than priced as a city zone, so the delivery figure is confirmed with your order instead of appearing in the calculator.
How far ahead should we book?
Further ahead than a mainland order. The crossing has to be scheduled around your delivery window and your teardown, and in peak conference season both are competing with everyone else. Send the dates as soon as you have them.
Can we collect the equipment ourselves instead?
Self pickup is from our Vancouver depot, so for a Victoria event that means taking it across yourself. Most Island clients have us deliver, but the option is there in the calculator if your team is already making the trip.
