Retail and mall activations are belt-stanchion territory: one post, an 8ft belt, and a queue that can be doubled or straightened in under a minute, at $19 per stanchion per day. Production and campus work uses the same posts for set boundaries and safe walkways, plus 7ft x 4ft barricades at $39 each with 25lb sandbags at $15 where an exterior line has to hold.
Award dinners and executive receptions take the other half of the catalogue: rope stanchions with 5ft velvet ropes at $19 per stanchion per day, a red carpet runner from $60 for a 4x10ft, and sign holders at $10 each for wayfinding and sponsor credits.
Order for the biggest version of the queue
The mistake on an activation is ordering for the layout on paper. A line that was planned as twenty feet straight becomes forty feet of switchback the moment the crowd arrives, and the posts to do that either came on the truck or they did not. Belt spans 8ft, so forty feet of switchback is six posts — a small enough number that ordering the larger version costs less than the phone call about the smaller one.
For a shoot, the same principle applies in reverse: order the posts, not the barricades, unless you genuinely need to stop members of the public. Posts get moved between setups; steel panels get left where they were dropped.

$140 covers delivery and collection as one charge. Setup is a separate option. Equipment on an order has to total $150 before tax and delivery are worked out.
Mall and campus rules are worth reading first
Almost every venue in this city has a rule about when equipment can move. Malls want deliveries before opening and strikes after closing. Campuses want a permit number. Production sites want a contact who is actually on set rather than in an office. None of that changes what an order costs; all of it changes when the truck can be at the door.
Put the venue's window in the delivery time fields and the on-site contact in the notes. The orders that go wrong here are almost never the wrong equipment — they are the right equipment arriving at a loading bay that is closed.

Can you collect after a mall closes?
Yes. Put the strike time in the pickup window and we will book the collection around it. Late teardowns are normal for retail work here and they do not change the delivery charge.
We need a set perimeter for a shoot. What holds up best?
Barricades for anything that has to stop people, belt posts for anything that only has to direct them. Belt posts are faster to move between setups, which is usually what a shoot actually needs.
