Terms of Service
Last updated 21 August 2026.
These terms apply to equipment rented from Stanchion Rentals, a trading name of I Love Events Canada Inc. They are written to be read rather than survived, and if anything here is unclear, ask us before you book.
What a calculator total is
An estimate. The calculator prices the order you built with the rates we publish, and it is accurate for a standard job — but it is not a confirmation that the equipment is free on your date, and it is not a contract. Sending a request starts a conversation; it does not reserve anything.
Some items and quantities are quoted by hand rather than priced automatically: large quantities, rentals beyond the range the calculator covers, custom carpet sizes, and delivery outside the cities in our zone list. Where that applies, the calculator says so instead of showing a number.
Booking and payment
Equipment is reserved when the order is paid in full, and not before. Until then the stock stays available to everyone else, which is why a busy Saturday can be gone between a quote and a decision.
The minimum order is $150 of equipment, before delivery and tax. Tax is added at the applicable provincial rate — 12% in British Columbia, 13% in Ontario — based on where the equipment is collected or delivered.
Cancellation
Cancel more than 48 hours before your event start time and you get a full refund. Cancel between 48 and 24 hours before it and we refund half the order. Cancellations inside 24 hours are non-refundable.
That schedule exists because a confirmed booking takes equipment off the shelf and we turn down other work for your date.
Delivery, collection and setup
Delivery is charged as one round trip: we bring the equipment and we come back for it, and it is billed once. Each city we serve has its own minimum, shown in the calculator when you pick it.
Setup is a separate option. Leave it off and the equipment is delivered for your team to place; tick it and we build the lines before doors.
Delivery and collection windows are agreed, not guaranteed to the minute. Tell us the venue's constraints — dock times, elevator bookings, permits, site access — in the notes when you order, and we will work inside them.
Collection by you
Self pickup is free from either depot: Toronto, ON or Vancouver, BC. Bring a vehicle that fits the order — stanchions travel upright and carpet runners do not fold — and return everything at the time agreed when the order was confirmed.
Looking after the equipment
Everything goes out counted, cleaned and inspected. If something arrives damaged or short, tell us the same day and we will put it right; a problem reported after the event cannot be checked against what left our depot.
The equipment stays ours for the whole rental. You have it on hire, which means using it for what it was built for and returning it in the condition it arrived in, allowing for a working event.
Please do not alter it. Nothing drilled, cut, painted or permanently fixed to a post, a panel or a frame, and nothing attached that did not arrive with it.
Velvet ropes and carpet runners are the exception to all of that: send them back exactly as they come off the event. Cleaning textiles is our job, not yours, and it is already in what you pay.
Damage and loss
Equipment that has been to an event comes back marked. A scuffed base, a scratch down a post, a rope that has been handled all evening — none of that is chargeable and none of it needs explaining when the order comes back to us.
Damage past that point is yours to cover, and so is anything lost or stolen while the equipment is with you. What you are billed is whatever the item itself needs — a repair where it can be repaired, a replacement where it cannot. Nothing is sold as a damage waiver here and nothing is charged as a flat percentage of the order.
If something breaks or goes missing, say so as soon as you know. Raised on the day it is a small matter; raised a week after collection it is not.
Keeping it longer than booked
If the event runs on and you need the equipment beyond the confirmed end date, tell us before that date passes. We invoice the extra days and the equipment simply stays where it is.
Equipment kept past the end date without that arrangement remains your responsibility until we have it back, and may be invoiced for the additional days.
What this site is
A catalogue and a pricing tool. We keep it accurate, but availability changes daily and a page is not an offer to supply. Nothing on this site is professional advice about crowd safety, capacity or site design — those are decisions for your event's organiser and, where applicable, the authority having jurisdiction.
Which province's law applies
These terms are governed by the law of the province the equipment is supplied in: Ontario where it is delivered to or collected in Ontario, British Columbia where it is delivered to or collected in British Columbia.
