Stanchion Rentals
Red Carpet Runner
per runner, per day
A red runner in four event sizes: 4x10ft, 6x10ft, 6x15ft and 6x25ft. It arrives rolled, is laid in a minute by two people, and is the single item that turns a doorway into an arrival.
Choosing a size
Width first. The 4ft width suits a single doorway and a photographer standing to one side; 6ft is what you want if guests will walk two abreast or if there is a step-and-repeat wall behind them and people need room to stop and turn.
Then length, measured from where guests leave the vehicle or the lobby to where the entrance actually is. A 10ft runner reads as a threshold. A 25ft runner reads as a walk, and it needs posts along it or the edges wander.
Carpet and posts belong together
A runner on its own is a rug. A runner with rope stanchions down each side is a red carpet — the posts are what keep the edge straight, stop people cutting across it, and give the photograph its frame.
Count the posts along the length: one every 5ft with rope, plus one at each end. A 6x15ft runner is comfortable with eight posts, four a side.
Surfaces and weather
Indoors on a hard floor it lies flat and stays put. On a pavement, expect it to move if the ground is uneven, and plan the corners. Wet weather is the limit: a soaked runner is heavy, marks, and does not photograph the way anyone wants — if the approach is exposed, keep the carpet inside the doors and start the rope line outside them.
We deliver it rolled and collect it rolled. Nothing needs cutting, taping or trimming, and nothing should be — it goes back out to the next event.
