Stanchion Sign Toppers

$10.00 CAD

per topper, per day

A frame that sits on the top of a stanchion and holds a standard 8.5x11 sheet, in silver or black. It puts a sign exactly where the queue already is, using a post you were renting anyway, and it takes about five seconds to fit.

What goes on them

Short instructions, in large type. "Line starts here." "Members." "A–M." "Please have your ticket ready." A topper is read by someone standing three feet away who is already in the line — it is not the place for a paragraph or a sponsor's full lock-up.

Print the sheets yourself. The frame takes ordinary letter paper, so a change of room, a change of session or a spelling correction at eight in the morning is a reprint rather than a problem.

Topper or floor-standing holder

Use a topper when the message belongs to the queue and the post is already there. Use a floor-standing sign holder when the message has to stand somewhere no post does — a lobby corner, a lift landing, the top of a staircase.

Both take the same 8.5x11 sheet, so one set of artwork covers both and you can decide on site which sign goes where.

How many

One at the head of every line, one at every decision point where a guest could go two ways, and one at the back of a long switchback so people joining it know they are in the right queue. Three or four covers most single-room events; a conference with parallel sessions wants more.

They mount on the posts, so order them alongside the stanchions rather than on their own — a topper with nothing to sit on is the one line item that arrives useless.
