Crowd Control Barricades

Galvanized steel panels, 7ft wide and 4ft high, with flat feet and interlocking ends. Unlike a stanchion, a barricade is built to be leaned on: it stops people rather than suggesting where they should walk, and it is the only thing on this site rated for a crowd pushing against it.

Standard uses are festival perimeters, stage fronts, controlled entry points, parking-lot activations, construction hoarding and anywhere a line has to hold without staff standing in it.

How many panels a run takes

Each panel covers seven feet, so divide the length of your run by seven and round up. A 70ft perimeter is ten panels; a stage front twice the width of the stage is usually six to eight. Every gate you leave in the line subtracts a panel and adds a steward.

Panels interlock, so a run behaves as one structure rather than as separate pieces — which is also why a run wants planning: once it is built, moving the middle of it means opening an end.

Ballast is not optional outdoors

A barricade panel is a flat surface in the wind, and a skirted panel with a sponsor print on it is a sail. Sandbags on the feet are what keep a line standing, and the failure mode without them is not gradual — a section goes over all at once.

Plan one bag per exposed leg. A run along a building needs fewer than the same run across open ground, and open ground is where most events put it.

Delivery and placement

Steel is heavy and a stack of panels at the gate is a job nobody wants at 7am. Send us the site plan or describe the run in the notes and the panels get staged along the line they are going to form, which costs nothing extra and saves your crew carrying them across a field.
